Color meanings is the U.S verses different countries

Red- In the United States red is symbolic of victory.
       - In Japan it is the symbol of life.
 
Purple- In the United States purple symbolizes royalty or mystery. 
           -  In India purple may be a color of sorrow. 

Blue-  In the Untied States blue symbolizes truth and intelligence.
        -  In  Thailand blue is the color of compassion and desire.

Green- In the United States green symbolizes nature and ecology.
           - In Italy green symbolizes youthfulness and spring. 
 
Yellow-In the United States yellow symbolizes happiness and warmth. 
           -In Russia yellow is a traditional wedding color.
 
Orange-In the United States orange symbolizes vibrant energy and warmth.
             -In Japan orange is the color of love and happiness.   

Brown-In the United States brown symbolizes reliable and sportive.
           - In  India brown in one of the colors of mourning
 
Black-In the United States black symbolizes power,strength ,and evil.
         - In Spain black is the color of wealth. 
 
White-In the United States white symbolizes purity, truth, cleanliness and sterility. 
          -In the West Indies white is the color of mourning

Gray-In the United States gray symbolizes elegance and neutrality.
        - In Japan gray is the color of maturity, conservatism and old age.

Tone: The brightness, deepness or hue of a color
Shade: A lightness or darkness of a color
Complimentary Colors:C
olors that are directly opposite of each other in the color spectrum
Analogous Colors: A group of colors that are adjacent to each other on the color wheel 

Contrasting Colors: Colors placed opposite if one another on the color wheel also called complimentary colors
Texture: The appearance, feel or consistency of a substance or surface
Graphic Design Principles: Describes the ideas about the good practice of visual design
Balance:  When elements are equal
Symmetry: When something is made up exactly similar
